Noosa H3 Welcome
Welcome to Noosa Hash House Harriers. We are a mixed hash club of between 30-50 members who meet every Monday night (rain or shine) at 6.15pm somewhere on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia. We describe Hash as a drinking club with a running problem, because we mix drinking with exercise. The drinking probably cancels out all the good that the exercise does, but we love it.
Our median age has increased over the 31 years our club has been in existence and the average age would now be around 53 years. However, nothing dampens the enthusiasm of Hashers and both runners and walkers tackle the challenges of each trail with gusto.
We usually have around 30 people at each night's run. We run or walk for about an hour, covering bush, hills, streets, beach and sometimes water. Once the run has finished, we get together for our circle (a Hash ritual of down downs for people who have been noticeable) and then Nosh (food). A down down is where you scull a mug of beer or whatever concoction the Grog Master/Mistress has created.
