A very Unremarkable Ma’ Dog Screamer of a run…

Run #2232 – Monday 27 Feb 2023
Hares: Screamer & Ma’ Dog
Location: Tewantin

A great turnout of hashers descended upon 117 Griffith Ave, Tewantin homestead of Screamer and Ma’ Dog. Out the front of the house was a For Sale sign, but still it didn’t deter the hashers from coming…

We ferreted around the streets at the start of the run but we soon headed down Billabong Way through to the bushy parklands and the golf course. We entered the Heritage Park Bushland Reserve more than once which made us think that we had gone back on ourselves. Gropa didn’t find trail the first time as the toilet paper had fallen off the tree which he prompted put back as we think it might have been used…

The pack managed to keep together for most of the way with Ma’ Dog occasionally gesturing to the slower hashers to take the other direction at the checks. Kondom and Woof Woof were leading the walkers striding out in front and still managing to keep lots of conversation going. Lech was in fine form pounding the pavement like a true FRB – he said that he hasn’t felt so good in ages (I’ll have some of that some of that secret potion too!).

Soon, we stumbled upon an Unremarkable Drink Stop! He mentioned that he wasn’t very good at doing ‘hash stuff’ but somehow managed the drinks. He did leave the rice cooking on the stove and walked away for Screamer to fortunately find that it wasn’t burnt!

Good Things was busy on the phone and eyeing up potential real estate that was on sale in the area. The trail did go past the Carramar Aged Care however, I don’t think she was interested in living there just yet!

Griffith Ave must seem like a long road as we must have crossed or gone along it several times and then the home trail did indeed take us back onto Griffith Ave! An excellent 5.53km run that was under the hour too!

This was the first official circle that the newly appointed GM had graced us with her presence as Licker literally got the shits last week! Ma’ Dog’s summary was that the GM and the RA/On Sec, enthralled the mob with their fuckups and indecisions and is so glad that nothing has changed since the last committee! (does that sound like a nomination for the next committee?!!).

Beams was charged with impostoring Kel from Kath & Kim as he’s certainly got those power walking moves! Even the GM doesn’t escape charges as she decided to leave all her vibrating bits (sex toys) behind at last weekend’s shenanigans! Weak As deserves some award for yet another injury when the pavement jumped out on him to cause him to lose bark on his arms and legs.

The Grog Raffle was won by Kerfuffle who took the wine and pumpkin but turned down the beer. The beer was redrawn with Lech winning the six pack.

Another great evening with thanks to Screamer and Ma’ Dog for their hospitality and a fab run!

Longis Prongis strikes again…

Run #2231 – Monday 20 Feb 2023
Hares: Mozzie & Haybales
Location: Cooroy

Rain had finally arrived to the Sunshine Coast. However, there was still a great turnout in Cooroy. Haybales sent us off on a different path through a creek which fortunately had not filled up. In fact you had to be pretty daft to get your feet wet! Could have been fun in a few weeks time…

We ventured out the back of the sports grounds and off towards Trail 8 leading to Pomona. We cut off to the left before Trail 8 and headed off through the winding estate paths in an anticlockwise direction and back to town.

One of the few checks was marked off to a cul-de-sac with no escape. Nafa was accused but then we realised he wasn’t on the run and only partly blamed him. Kaffir headed off to the right as he knew that led back to town. We were then called back by Possum and Ride On claiming that we were on the wrong trail. Blindly we followed Ride On who ‘knew the way’  – no trail of course! Finally, we reached town but instead of taking the direct route back to the bucket, Possum insisted we follow her. So, off we went again. That little detour took some time – just enough time in fact for the heavens to open which turned a dry run into a damp one.

Weak As ran the circle as the newly appointed GM had a dose of the runs and the RA had other issues (don’t we all?). This was duly noted as a great start to the year – only up from here as they say…

The usual down downs were held with loud tunes from Possum – the odd bit in tune.

Most notably, Weak As finally called for charges from the run and Long Prong stepped up to declare that he had been accosted by a mad man (meaning quite cross rather than a looney), demanding to know if Long Prong was one of the old men chasing his son. Quite shocked, Long Prong advised that he wasn’t but perhaps it was one of the runners such as Weak As. It turned out we think that the boy was late back and was looking for an excuse (take your pick of hashers!).

A very pleasant hash trail – thanks to Haybales and Mozzie.
